giro deluxe, sept 2025 – review
In September 2025 we took 23 performance cars and supercars for 7 days of automotive fun in the shape of our Giro Deluxe European Road Trip. Excitement levels were high for the ever-popular trip that always sells out, and this 2025 edition of this adventure did not disappoint.
The mix of cars was eclectic and exotic – modern day sports cars such as Caymans & Boxters rubbed shoulders with a Ferrari 812 GTS, Ferrari 458 and an Audi R8 V10. 50% of the cars on this trip were from the Porsche brand – Spyder RS, GT4 RS, Carrera 2S, 911 Turbo S x 2, GT3 and GT3 RS all featured. The noise was brought by a Mercedes AMG GTR Black Edition and Jaaaaaaguar F-Type SVR, and for the performance cars there was a couple of trusty Yaris GRs, Audi TTRS then our Golf R estate. Comfort was in the form of 2 x Jaguar XKRs. We also has a couple from the USA in a rented 911 Carrera GTS.
Daytime we ripped up so many mountain roads – an early assault in the Grossglockner in Austria being a highlight for most – just an amazing way to start the day on superb roads and blasting through tunnels. Austria always delights, as did the might of the Italian Dolomites.
After some serious driving most people took full advantage of the spa facilities at our hand-picked hotels, refreshing themselves before dining – the highlight being a 4-course dinner, 5 star style, with a cheese-board to finish with that you had to see to believe – delicious. *Hotel highlight was driving your car in to reception at the Interalpen*
All of a sudden we were heading through Germany, some via the Black Forest, some on the de-restricted Autobahns, for the final night dinner and drinks, Bavarian style.
Fuel was burnt, food eaten, drinks consumed, frowns and smiles were expressed, new friends were made and good times were had.
